Where Did We Come From? Why are we here?
Since humans evolved, they've always pondered those questions.
Maybe God didn't specifically create humans per se, or planets, or space and time...he/she (since we have no way else to refer to God) might have just created "The Beginning", where everything else could have just evolved through our meager understanding of physics.
In quantum physics using string theory, it might one day be proved (to humans in some comprehensible manner) that out Universe (as we understand it) might be just one of trillions that exist in particles smaller than an electron of an atom. And like ghosts, just because we can't see them or prove they're here among us, doesn't mean they don't exist.
When we look back at science 200 or 300 years ago we almost laugh, thinking that people were so primitive in those days - - - but if this orb circling our star survives another 1,000 years, can you imagine what they might say about us then?
But let's take it one step further...if God didn't create the Universe, who or what did? Did "reality" always exist? And if there really was a "Big Bang", who created it? We can't say "what" created the Universe or "what" created the "Big Bang because "what" would indicate that there was something already in existence....that reality already WAS. And if we say "who" created it, then we infer that someone or entity already WAS...that reality already WAS.
Next step forward...what IS reality or existence as we perceive it to be? We perceive pain when we stub our toe and say it's REAL. But is it? And if the pain we feel is real, than reality must BE - - - but how did "reality" come to be? Reality to us is space and time. Things we can see and feel and experience. Three dimensions in our world as we perceive it to be in our life.
Next step forward...what is "life"? Who or what created it? Our scientists say that with the raw elements on this planet and with the perfect environment for life to exist, all life-forms came from amino acids, built from carbon atoms to create RNA and DNA to create genes - - - that we were created from stardust during the birth of our solar system.
We (life) MUST HAVE evolved from the "Big Bang" because who or what but God could have created the "Big Bang"?
"Cogito, ergo sum - I think, therefore I am."

Steven Hawking, a physicist expanding on Albert Einstein's "Theory of Relativity", had an obsession for Black Holes (the implosions of Super Nova stars)and how understanding them might help him come to understand how the Universe was created - - - The "Theory of Everything". He too always asked himself, "Why are we here?"
He once believed that the Universe was created spontaneously, with no God, but has since changed his mind. At one time, when he thought he was very close to solving this mystery, he said,"If I do, it would leave everyone else (meaning other physicists) with so little to do, because everything would have been solved."
"M -Theory" (short for membrane or "brane" theory, a field of Quantum Physics) has evolved from his studies. It is "String Theory" and proposes using 11 dimensions. - the 11th containing many types of membranes. Our Universe is but just but one in what might be an infinite amount of Universes existing in a "Multi-Verse" - - - parallel Universes. When two collided, the "Big Bang occurred", creating our Universe...the one we live in. M -Theory suggests that everything we know as "mass" exists on this one Universe (or membrane).
The "Singularity", the point that created the Big Bang, was in essence, two membranes that co-existed in the 11th dimension (not flat, but with ripples) colliding at different points of their membranes- - - and each membrane (Universe) with it's own law of physics. Was the "Theory of Everything" finally solved? I'll let you know...
But this still doesn't answer the question of God. I live in a 3-D world, so what are the 4th throught 10th dimentions? And who or what created the 11th dimension?
Scientists have only created more questions than answers.
...but for now, I'll just take the cash!
