What's your story? Let somebody know!

Just copy-and-paste one block of e-mail addresses from this TEXT file into the BCC line in your e-mail - It's better to "right click and save" to hard drive.
One "block" may be all you can send at one time, depending on your bandwidth and mail server. Break the blocks into smaller or larger blocks to suit your e-mail limitations.
A few may come back as "undeliverable" for various reasons (I got six), but if just ONE e-mail gets through and is acted upon, it might help.
Not enough for you?
Then try these two TEXT files...every e-mail for every news outlet and reporter known to mankind! (You'll get some that are "undeliverable" because of FULL MAIL BOXES etc.)
Right click and save to your hard drive:

Why stop there?
Contact the Bureau of Labor and Statistics and tell them you are a REAL person, not a damn number (or a widget).

- - - Here's what I MASS MAILED - - -
Good morning, if just ONE reporter would read this, maybe something could be done.
What the media hasn't been reporting - for shame!
The untold story:
The unemployment rate that the Bureau of Labor and Statistics releases every month doesn't include the hundreds of thousands of families that are losing their unemployment insurance income every week.
These people who have exhausted all their "benefits" are the long-term unemployed because they are considered either "too old", "over-qualified", or are simply over-looked. They are labeled by the BLS as "discouraged workers" and "people who gave up looking for work." Not true!
The TRUE unemployment rate is closer to 20%, not 9.7% as they have reported for the last 3 months.

There is only one low-paying job available for every 6 people who need to make an living wage.
Too often commentators in the media and members of congress (who pull in $174k annually) unfairly refer to these people as "lazy" or unwilling to "live within their means". But it's much more complicated than just abandoning one's house, apartment, and car to achieve this "easy" solution.
A great deal of these people are between a rock and a very hard place...having spent their life's savings and depleting their 401k's whenever possible. Most of the "older" people (45 to 55) can't have early access to their pensions and are far too young to qualify for Social Security.
And the really-really "old" people (55-65) may have more health issues, but no longer have work-provided heath insurance...and aren't eligible for their pensions or Social Security either without heavy penalties and taxes.
Trying to qualify for Social Security disability usually takes up to 3 years, and sometimes requires the intervention of a lawyer to resolve (minus legal fees).
Most of the time a single person (of any age) without dependent children can't even qualify food stamps. And there's usually a lot of restrictions, such as owning a car worth more than $2,000...to drive to all those lousy jobs!
Is this the plan?
It's estimated that 160,000 new jobs have to be created every month just to maintain the status quo. That has not been the case.
Besides the already 30 million people who are either unemployed or "under" employed, young people graduating from school, immigration, and retiring military personnel all contribute to the competition for any jobs that may eventually become available - except for jobs that are STILL being out-sourced to China and India.
Major corporations are taking advantage of these desperate people by offering them low wages and temporary or part-time work. There is NO shortage of labor in this country and they're well aware of this fact.
Billions of dollars are going to the IMF and to foreign aide alone...why not help your fellow countrymen in dire need until the economy recovers? Economists say that extended unemployment insurance income for the jobless goes directly back into the economy.
Please don't propagate the misperception that unemployment insurance income is a "benefit" or "welfare". The vast majority of these people worked hard all their lives, and would prefer to tell their children that mommy and/or daddy has a job.
Please Google "Tier V" and "99er" web sites for a better understanding of the plight of these people. The poor are no longer abroad...they are here, and homelessness and suicide rates could be on the rise if no other remedy is made for these desperate people.
Please get the word out. Thank you.
