Question: Barack Obama Senior left his pregnant wife behind in Kenya to attend the University of Hawaii as a "foreign student" on a scholarship to study for a degree in economics - (he was the University's first African student). But I can't find a record of his divorce from his "first wife" (or any of his wives) before he "re-married" again to his "second wife" Stanley Ann Dunham (President Obama's mother).
From "The Obama Timeline"
Obama, Sr., an Arab-African Muslim by birth, but an atheist by admission, already had two children with a woman in Kenya named Kezia (b. 1938). The senior Obama may or may not have been legally married to Kezia. Some have speculated that their marriage was only a tribal marriage, and therefore not legally recognized. Depending on his marital status in Kenya, Obama’s marriage to Dunham may not therefore have been legal. (Obama and Kezia eventually reunite after he separates from Ann Dunham, and Kezia bears two more of his children.) After learning of the planned wedding to Dunham, Obama, Sr.’s father writes a long, angry letter to her parents saying he “didn’t approve of the marriage” and “didn’t want the Obama blood sullied by a white woman.”

Fox News reported on Friday, August 25, 2006 that President Obama's father died in a car crash in 1982, "leaving three wives, six sons and a daughter. One son died in 1984 and all his surviving children, except one, live in Britain or the United States." (Where does THAT child live?)
If there was no legal divorce from the first marriage in Kenya, how could Barack Obama Senior's second marriage to Stanley Ann Dunham be legal?
The practice of polygamy is legal in Kenya.
(See my blog post - "Barack Obama AKA Barry Soetoro" for full explanation.)

Also: After Stanley Ann Dunham's second marriage to an Indonesian student named Lolo Soetoro, he (Obama's step-father) reportedly adopted Barack Junior - and enrolled him in the Fransiskus Assisi School in Jakarta, Indonesia, and shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro and lists him as an Indonesian citizen (documented).
Between these two sets of circumstances, where does this legally leave our President? (Forget all the rumors about him not being born in Hawaii.)
And who was the U.S. Senator who accompanied Obama to Kenya? and why? To "fix" his father's divorce from one of his 3 wives that he had in Kenya? (link below.)
Obama Sr. - born into the Luo tribe of Nyang’oma Kogelo, in Nyanza Province, Kenya (Muslim)
Barack Hussein Obama Sr and his father (Obama's grandfather) were poor. They lived in a little village in Kenya's western Nyanza province. His grandfather was a cook for the British, who were the colonizers in Kenya at that time. His father “grew up herding goats and went to school in a tin-roof shack”, as Obama said himself. (When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was still a British colony.)
His grandfather converted from Christianity to Islam after having fought for the British in World War I and having traveled to Islamic Zanzibar. After this, he added Hussein to his name. As a consequence, Obama’s father was raised a Muslim, but he became an atheist long before he met Obama’s mother, who was not religious as well. The same goes for his mother’s second husband – Obama’s step father.
But both Obama’s first and middle name have an African-Arabic origin. Barack means “blessed” in Arab (which has influenced East-African languages a lot during the ages) and the Arab name Hussein was passed from his grandfather and father.
Barack Obama converted from Muslim to Christian only after they joined the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in 1988 (where he was first baptized by the Reverend Wright).

More from "The Obama Timeline"
Obama’s school records from Occidental College have been kept secret. That may simply be to hide poor grades or an embarrassing list of non-challenging classes he took, or to cover up some affirmative action/quota assistance he received. But it is also possible that those records list Obama as a foreign student from Indonesia, rather than an American student. Being classified as a foreign student may have allowed Obama to tap into government education grants. (Some claim that California records show evidence of an educational grant to a foreign exchange student named “Soetoro” from Indonesia, but it appears that student was someone named “Soetoro Moestabjab.”) The records may also indicate that Obama actively applied for affirmative action treatment and support. If Obama accepted foreign student education grants at Occidental College because he was a foreign student, then he is not a natural born citizen and is ineligible to serve as president of the United States. If, however, Obama was born in Hawaii but used his Indonesian adoption papers and Jakarta school records to make it appear as though he was a foreign student in order to obtain foreign student grant money, then he was committing fraud to obtain government funds. Either scenario would be a reason for Obama to want his school records kept secret.

In 1988 Obama Junior spent five weeks in Kenya, where he met many of his paternal relatives for the first time. He was greeted by his aunt Zeituni Onyango. "'Welcome home,' Zeituni said, kissing me on both cheeks," wrote Obama in his autobiography. Our president-elect has been somewhat less effusive in welcoming Miss Onyango to the U.S.
*Zeitun came here eight years ago on a temporary visa and obtained a Social Security card in 2001. When her visa expired, she applied for political asylum, but the application was rejected in 2004 and a judge ordered her to leave the country. Onyango chose not to comply, and is now a fugitive alien. Since 2003 she has been living in public housing in Boston and receiving a stipend from that city's Housing Authority for being a part-time "health advocate"--yet another one of those jobs, apparently, that Americans will not do. Her straitened circumstances notwithstanding, Onyango managed to donate $260 to her nephew's presidential campaign--illegally, as she is not a citizen. The president-elect returned the donations (after they were publicized) and says that his aunt should obey the law. (Does Zeitun know too much? Obama wouldn't even give up Bill Ayers or the Reverend Wright without a lot of fuss.)

In 1995 Obama Junior visited Sarah Obama (step-grandmother of Barack Obama and elder sister of his father) in her little village of Nyangoma-Kogelo, according to Time Magazine (I posted a photo on my blog here http://tobuds.com/blogs/blog1.php/2009/09/04/barack-obama-aka-barry-soetoro )
Fox News reports on Friday, August 25, 2006 that he "visited Kenya three times, most recently in the early 1990s to introduce his then-fiancee (Michelle) to his Kenyan family in his first trip to Kenya since becoming a U.S. Senator. FOX also reports that Obama's father "...died in a car crash in 1982, leaving three wives, six sons and a daughter. One son died in 1984 and all his surviving children, except one, live in Britain or the United States."

He returned in August 2006 in a visit to his father's birthplace, a village near Kisumu in rural western Kenya. He was traveling with another US Senator (which one, and why?) and was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the US Ambassador Michael Rannesberger and Obama’s Kenyan relatives. (To "fix" the divorce, knowing it could come back to haunt him?) Obama also met survivors of the 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy and laid a wreath in memory of the 248 people killed.

July 03, 2009 - President Obama says his first trip to Sub-Saharan Africa won't include a stop in his father's Kenyan homeland because of his view that the violence-plagued country still has a long way to go in becoming a free and open democracy. (He decided this after all those other previous visits? And now that he has the full protection of the United States behind him?) But he did visit other African countries where Valerie Jarrett and her father used to vacation together.

Indonesian passports expire every five years. If Obama became a citizen of Indonesia through adoption by Lolo Soetoro in 1966 and was then issued a passport, he may have renewed it a third time by 1981. Obama turned age 18 in 1979. If he renewed his Indonesian passport at any point after his 18th birthday, Obama would have officially lost U.S. citizenship—if he even still had it—according to 8 USC Sections 1481(a)(2) and 101(a)(1), because of “…taking an oath or making allegiance or other formal declaration of allegiance to a foreign state… after having attained the age of 18.”

NOTE: He reportly once held both U.S. and Kenyan citizenship as a child, but he automatically lost his Kenyan citizenship Aug. 4, 1984
